The º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Foundation and º£½ÇÂÒÂ×’s New York health plan, Fidelis Care, are providing $1.1 million over five years to help create a wellness center overseen by the Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB) and its nonprofit partners. CHCB is a federally qualified health center operating patient centers across Western New York, in addition to a mobile healthcare unit.
The wellness center will nurture social entrepreneurship and strengthen organizations focused on BIPOC individuals in Buffalo. Additionally, it will offer collaborative programming involving local organizations that have existing partnerships with CHCB. The Wellness Center will accelerate opportunities for new social entrepreneurs by providing business services and resources, as well as health-focused programming.
This investment will help build grassroots social entrepreneurship infrastructure and transform neighborhoods by tackling social drivers of health, cultivating innovation, advancing economic equity, and promoting wellness.
